Honey-Cake (Halvas) with Almond Cordial
|4 glasses of water||2/3 glass of sugar||1 glass of semolina||1 glass of Amalia Almond Cordial|
|1/2 a glass of Amalia whitened and cut almonds|
First put into the saucepan the water, sugar, almond cordial and semolina and let them boil as you continuously stir.
As soon as the ingredients boil, take the saucepan off the fire. At this stage the honey-cake is quite fluffy.
Leave the mixture in the saucepan for 5-10 minutes, or as long as it needs for the mixture to thicken a little.
Then, add the almonds to the mixture and stir. Immediately after, water a baking form and pour the mixture in the form, spreading it with a spoon.
After a few hours, when the honey-cake thickens, it is ready to serve.
It is preferable, to allow the honey-cake to cool, cover it and store in the refrigerator until the next day.BACK
